dental visits or recommended procedures because of cost.

More than 100,000,000 people
in the U.S. are missing one or more teeth.

AFTER

·         Nearly half (48%) of Americans with dental insurance have skipped dental visits or recommended procedures due to cost. Among those who aren’t insured, 65% have skipped the dentist for the same reason.

·         Baby boomers are least likely to have dental insurance, and most say it’s due to Medicare. 38% of baby boomers don’t have dental insurance, and 42% within that group say it’s because their Medicare plan doesn’t cover dental.

·         Nearly 30% of those without dental insurance regret not being covered. And 30% of all Americans (both insured and uninsured) regret not taking better care of their teeth.

·         Those without dental insurance are twice as likely to be unhappy with their teeth as those who are insured. 34% of those without insurance are not satisfied with the condition of their teeth, compared with 17% of those who are insured.

·         As for consumers who have insurance, their main gripe is that not enough services or procedures are covered (cited by 25%). In total, 48% of insured Americans have at least one complaint about their policy or insurer.

·         As Countless Americans face similar challenges every year, either going bankrupt in order to get the dental care they need or letting their medical conditions worsen.

DENTAL INSURANCE DOESN’T HELP WHATSOEVER WHEN IT COMES TO MAJOR RECONSTRUCTION WITH MOST LIMITING COVERAGE TO LESS THAN $2500.00 PER YEAR!

The average cost in the U.S. for a full-mouth reconstruction is substantial with a ballpark cost between $30,000-$90,000USD. The cost varies according to whether you replace all of your teeth, or maintain your natural teeth and modify them.  Needless to say, many people only dream of this life-changing procedure because they could never afford this large cost so they simply live with the bad teeth and bad health that follows.

There’s growing evidence that dental problems can worsen other health conditions. In particular, dental problems can severely worsen other chronic conditions, like diabetes or heart disease, that many Americans suffer from. Dental infections can be painful and can sometimes even be life-threatening when coupled with other health conditions. That’s particularly troublesome when paired with the fact that nearly one-third of Americans didn’t visit a dentist in the past year and that includes about half of Americans 65 and older.

A tooth infection can even spread to the brain?

If you have a tooth abscess you could develop meningitis. This life-threatening condition occurs when the membranes near the spinal cord and the brain become inflamed. This bacterial infection could spread to the bloodstream and surround your brain and spinal cord. Meningitis could require extensive hospitalization.

Many people develop new or worsening heart conditions due to tooth infections.

Leaving a tooth abscess untreated can lead to serious, even life-threatening, complications.

Can infected tooth cause sepsis?

When an infection occurs, bacteria can move out of the tooth to the bone or tissue below, forming a dental abscess. A dental infection can lead to sepsis. Sometimes incorrectly called blood poisoning, sepsis is the body’s life-threatening response to infection.

People with nice teeth commonly believe that those with bad teeth didn’t take proper care of their teeth, abused illegal drugs that caused tooth decay, or otherwise caused their teeth to erode for other reasons to blame that person.  Those reasons certainly do exist but there are millions of Americans today with bad teeth that are due to other bad health conditions like Sjogren’s syndrome, etc., accidents or just plain old bad tooth genetics.  Some people were just born with bad family teeth and it’s not their fault, but they are forced to live with the problem or do something about it but for many, the cost is simply too much for them so they live in pain and embarrassment.

We have spoken with many people who are so insecure over their bad teeth that they just stay home and do everything possible to not interact with others so they won’t be judged by their appearance.  Even when they have to speak with someone, they won’t smile or they cover their mouth with their hand so nobody sees their problems. That’s very sad but it’s more common than you would think.  For many, it’s a matter of not being able to even chew their food while eating!

We help those who qualify and can’t help themselves.  Although we will help everyone we can, it all depends on need and medical priority among other requirements.  The more donations the more help that’s available.  Whether you just need basic dentures or a complete reconstruction, we are working to change as many lives as we can!
